Sandeep Farias

Sandeep Farias is a Co-founder of EPIC World, Founder and Managing Partner at Elevar Equity. He believes with urgency and certainty that the world of capital needs to move towards Entrepreneurial Households. Sandeep is widely regarded as an early pioneer in impact investing, playing a pivotal role in transforming the Indian microfinance sector from the non-profit space to formal banking. And with over 25 years of experience in diverse areas such as emerging markets investing, governance and regulation, organizational design, transactions and law, he has a clear vision of how to create generational transformation. 

Driven by his passion for working with early-stage companies to deliver affordable and quality essential services to Entrepreneurial Households, Sandeep founded Elevar in 2008. He is deeply committed to leveraging the power and scale of markets to challenge systemic inequities that restrict millions of households in underserved communities from accessing life-changing services.

In his leadership role on Elevar’s global teams, he plays a key role determining the firm’s investment strategy and entrepreneur selection, often thinking through how best to drive fund performance, and guiding business owners through inflection points in their entrepreneurial journeys. 

In a past life, Sandeep headed the corporate law team at Nishith Desai Associates, a leading research-based international law firm based in India. In 2004, he established Unitus in India, where he actively partnered with some of India’s foremost microfinance institutions and banks in their formative years. Sandeep has an integrated law and arts degree from the National Law School of India University (NLS).
