Thomas Hyland is a Senior Advisor at EPIC World. An experienced investor and advisor with a deep focus on India, his journey began 20 years ago when he set off on a nearly two-year solo exploration across India, Southeast Asia, and beyond. His extensive train travels immersed him in the country’s complexity and vibrancy, sparking a transformation that inspired him to build a career there.

As the co-founder of Aspada, a pioneering venture capital fund in Bangalore, Thomas operated at the intersection of business innovation and social impact. Aspada backed game-changing companies like Capital Float, Dunzo, NeoGrowth, WayCool Foods, and Reverie Language Technologies, supporting groundbreaking models in agriculture, logistics, financial services, healthcare, and education. With support from the Soros Economic Development Fund, Aspada became a cornerstone of sustainable investing and was later acquired by LGT Group, transforming into Lightrock, LGT’s global sustainable investing initiative.
Earlier in his career, Thomas was one of the first employees at SeaChange Capital Partners, a social-sector investment bank founded by senior Goldman Sachs partners. This role laid the foundation for his lifelong commitment to impactful investing and innovation. He earned his MBA from the Indian School of Business in 2010.
