When Amit returned home to Baliyana after serving in the Indian Army for 17 years, he found it difficult to maintain his fitness regimen. The nearest gym was 12 km away and he had to cycle the distance for his workouts. A lifelong fitness enthusiast, he knew the importance of exercise, especially for the youth.
Starting his village’s first fitness centre
He put together his army pension and some funds raised from family to start the first gym in his village - A1 Fitness Club. His vision is to improve accessibility to fitness facilities and instill the value of a disciplined life, which benefits not only individuals but also society and future generations. Towards this, he would get high-quality equipment from Delhi and Rohtak city.
"I initially had only 4-5 students, slowly that number increased. And now I have 80-82", he tells us with a proud smile. Amit is passionate about getting youngsters into fitness and wean them off social ills such as drug abuse.
Amit credits his success not only to his determination but also to the unwavering support of his remarkable wife. He strongly believes in the saying "behind every successful man is a strong woman". Her steadfast commitment not only to his aspirations but also to the daily operations of their business allows Amit to pursue his dreams while ensuring a bright future for their son and their community.

Driven by creating impact
Amit is driven by leaving a lasting impact. He wishes to continue doing this good work and be remembered, and to change the lives of many more youngsters in his village in the years to come.
